Southern Air Overview

World-class experience and customer-focused reliability

More than sixty years after its founding in 1947, Southern Air has soared to the top of the aviation industry with world-class experience and customer-focused reliability.

A U.S. FAA part 121 supplemental cargo carrier and portfolio company of Oak Hill Capital Partners, Southern Air through our fleet of B777Fs, 747-400BCFs and B747-200s provides a wide range of services including long-term ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, Insurance), air cargo solutions, on-demand charters and humanitarian relief flights. As the World’s only ACMI provider of 777 freighters, Southern Air is able to offer the most versatile and efficient cargo solutions, assuring clients greater flexibility, responsiveness and value

Our passion for top performance stands at the core of all we do. By recognizing each customer’s unique requirements, we have built a strong reputation of adaptability and competence. A proud member of the IOSA registry, the top international standard in industry safety, Southern Air understands quality is only possible through strict adherence to operational compliance – perhaps that’s why our safety record is second to none.

Our Operations and People are what truly set us apart

Southern Air’s integrated operations platform was built from the ground up with prompt and proficient response in mind. Our Global Headquarters and Communications Hub centered in Norwalk Connecticut USA is led by our System Operations Control Center, which facilitates all aspects of flight operations; planning; dispatch; flight permits; ground handling; landing rights and route analysis.

From departure to destination, our accomplished team of Technical Representatives and Loadmasters manage each flight. And only Southern Air employees ever touch our aircraft. Our cost and fuel-efficient fleet is carefully maintained by our experienced technical team, each technician having on average a minimum 15 years of heavy air-frame and power plant experience.

Today’s air cargo market depends on carriers who can quickly and efficiently adjust their networks to match the latest requirements of global trade. Dedicated exclusively to global air cargo for all of our 60 years, Southern Air knows what it takes to deliver the consistent superior performance our partners count on to power and grow their markets.
