CREW SCHEDULERS – NORWALK, CT:  Candidate must have aviation and crew scheduling experience, preferably with a Part 121 airline.  International and B747 experience a plus. Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment on rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends and holidays).  Some travel agent experience helpful.  Flight Dispatcher license a plus.

 

 

TRAVEL COORDINATORS – NORWALK, CT: Candidate must have experience making travel arrangements including booking commercial flights for administrative, flight crew, loadmasters and technical representatives.  Experience with booking hotel and ground transportation also required.  Travel experience with an airline and travel agent experience are pluses. 

 

 

 

FLIGHT DISPATCHER (OPERATIONS CONTROLLER) – NORWALK, CT: Candidate must have a current FAA Dispatcher Certificate.  Previous aviation experience a must, 747 exp. a plus, and international experience preferred.  Job requires that candidate have experience with monitoring, analyzing and/or calculating various flight factors such as weather reports and NOTAMs, runway performance, airport curfews, weight and balance issues, ATC preferred routes, distance, and fuel needs to create and/or update flight plans.  Aviation desired, preferably with a Part 121 airline.  Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment on rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends and holidays).  Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

 

 

AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE CONTROLLER

Duties and Responsibilities

 

·         Monitors the maintenance status of aircraft, in line operation, by close communication with Maintenance Planner, Line Stations, Flight Crews and Flight Operations.

·         Monitors short interval items such as daily and weekly maintenance checks to ensure timely identification and issuance to aircraft, within “due” hours, cycles or calendar date and issues current job cards for the performance of each.

·         Ensure proper use and interpretation of the Southern Air GMM and other related company procedures

·         Manage and control the all deferred maintenance which includes:

o    Correct MEL usage.

o    Issues control numbers and expiration dates to field personnel

o    Ensures proper tracking is maintained to avoid over-flying approved deferral limits.

o    Deferred Items (DI) are corrected in a timely manner

o    Process MEL extensions as required and approved by Chief Mechanic and Chief Inspector

·         Coordinates and schedules ground time, manpower and parts at Line Stations to correct maintenance discrepancies.

·         Provides technical expertise to assist in troubleshooting and fault diagnosis on operational aircraft.

·         Completes the maintenance report to document reportable events (maintenance delay, diversion, aircraft damage)

·         Processes material requests from the field to the Material Department.

·         Coordinates “on call” maintenance at all stations.

·         Assists Quality Control by reviewing technical documentation for accuracy and compliance company policy

·         Services as a central point of communication for maintenance related issues occurring between the line maintenance environment and headquarter staff

·         Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Maintenance Control.

 

Qualification Requirements:

 

·         Associates Degree in aviation related field

·         Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate

·         5 years aircraft maintenance experience (747-200 / 777  Preferred)

·         Previous maintenance control experience ( preferred)

·         Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) governing aircraft certification and maintenance

·         Ability to work in fast pace environment

·         Flexible work schedule required including shift, weekend, and holidays

·         Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Computer literate in Microsoft software and in use of digital manuals

·         Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

TECHNICAL REPRESENTATIVE

 

The position is to support Southern Air Inc. aircraft flying in support of multiple customer programs. Persons in these positions will have a home base assignment and be required to fly with aircraft to certain locations. Technical representatives are needed with the following qualifications:

 

Qualification Requirements:

 

·         High School Diploma

·         Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate

·         Five (5) years of aircraft maintenance experience preferred, of which two (2) must be on Boeing aircraft. Avionics and electrical competency a must.

·         Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Must be able to read, write and speak English

·         Seeking individuals with demonstrated strong work ethic and organizational skills

·         Computer literate in Microsoft and in use of Company digital manuals

·         Extensive travel required

·         20 days on /10 days off schedule rotation

·         Travel to and from home domicile provided

Manager of Purchasing

Location of Position: Norwalk, CT

Reports to: Director of Materials

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Manager work schedules of staff
  • Provide training and leadership to material staff
  • Supervise and evaluate and discipline material staff
  • Acquires quotes of aircraft components to assess current market value
  • Communicates with aircraft part distributors and brokers for part acquisition
  • Attains approvals for all purchases
  • Supervise all aircraft parts are only purchased from approved vendors
  • Recommend and coordinate for the addition of new approved vendors
  • Coordinates with AOG desk staff, and inventory control to purchase FAK and station inventory
  • Evaluate purchases to ensure compliance with all Federal Regulations and Company policies regarding quality, documentation and traceability.
  • Expedite open purchase orders.
  • Contact vendors to negotiate price, obtain the most preferred tag and direct the method of shipment.
  • Procure components, equipment, tools and supplies while maintaining fiduciary responsibility to the Company.
  • Coordinate with Accounting for invoice disputes and approvals
  • Maintain records of all purchases, identifying in detail originating requests/authorizations, source of supply, and costs
  • Coordinate with maintenance planning and procure pre-draw kits and parts for special projects, scheduled maintenance and aircraft modifications.
  • Supervise items being purchased, to ensure compliance with all Federal Regulations and Company policies regarding quality, documentation and traceability.
  • Ensure purchases are allocated to correct cost centers
  • Coordinate with logistic for the movements of all purchases
  • Any additional duties assigned by the Director of Materials.

 

Qualification Requirements:

 

·         High School Diploma or Equivalent

·         Previous leadership experience

·         5 years Aerospace Procurement/ Materials experience

·         Ability to work in fast pace environment

·         Flexible work schedule required including shift, weekend, and holidays

·         Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Computer literate in Microsoft software and in use of digital manuals

·         Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

 

 

Q.C. INSPECTOR: Candidate must have a valid FAA A&P Mechanics License with at least three years Quality Control Inspector, reliability and data analysis experience.   Also must meet the qualifications for airworthiness release and required inspection items authorization (B747).  Previous auditor and Internal Evaluation Program experience preferred.  This position will be required to conduct international audits and be available to assist with aircraft “C” and/or “D” checks overseas.
